Update December 18

Greetings and Happy Blessings from Guadalajara.

“O God! Your way is holy! No god is great like God! You’re the God who makes things happen; you showed everyone what you can do—“ Psalm 77:13-14 (The Message)

This morning I was reading Joel Rosenberg’s report on the spiritual awakening and increasing numbers of Muslims people coming to Jesus. Then this afternoon I was chatting with another pastor about God is moving in Mexico.

It’s a great day for sharing the Gospel. The response is greater and greater!

I am attaching another “Our Story” addition (help me with a more inventive name, would you?) and this month’s Good News letter.

You are such a great blessing and encouragement to us.

Your prayers are so powerful and effective!

Linda went with me to the pastors’ Christmas supper last night. She’s getting stronger…very slowly, but very surely.

Thanks for your prayers. She’s still way under weight, though. So we appreciate prayer for that.

Enjoy God’s Family in His House tomorrow. Worship Him and love the brethren!

In Him,

Roger & Linda

Update December 11

Greetings and Praises from Guadalajara,

“The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.” Prov 10.22

Linda and I were doing our devotionals this morning. Proverbs 10 was part of it. A great chapter. Full of wisdom and good advice!

I was looking for a cartoon to include this week. A kid screeching to a halt. Caption, “Whoa, 2011! You went too fast! Slow down!” I always thought we ought to have a week that doesn’t count between December 31 and January1. That way we could decently get through with the old and ready for the new.

We had a very blessed Missions Conference at the Angulo church. A Mexican couple working in the Middle East were our guest missionaries.

We had 10 decisions for Christ these past two Sundays, baptisms and a powerful youth meeting.

Linda and I went shopping on Wednesday! Her first shopping trip in months! Then she went with me to the Angulo church staff Christmas dinner on Friday. Two outings in a week! I think we are making progress. Thanks for praying!

We are looking forward to great services tomorrow, and praying the same for you there in your church. May lost souls come to the Savior and may the Lord be magnified in it all!

God bless you!

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update December 4

December Greetings in Jesus from Guadalajara.

"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!" Isaiah 52.7

Its missions week time here at the Angulo Center church. We have Mexican missionaries who work in the Middle East ministering in the services this week. I have included a couple of pictures below. Last night we had our annual Missions Meal service. One photo is of all the young people who dressed in costumes of different nations. They were the servers and ushers for the service. Tonight (Saturday) we have the annual missions youth service. Young people from our nine churches in the city will be in attendance. Please pray for the Holy Spirit's freedom to move and speak to all of us about missions and our part. We also use faith promises - pray the Lord will speak, and that we can all respond in faith to His Word.

I am including another bit of our story of our work in Mexico. I trust it will be a blessing.

Have a wonderful time tomorrow in Father's House. Enjoy fellowship with Him and some of His other kids.

Blessings.

Roger & Linda

Linda's House Project

Dear Friends,

In 2001 God put it on my heart to get Linda a house. She had never requested one, but I felt that after nearly forty years of traipsing around Texas, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico and various parts of Mexico, she deserved her own house. Thus the "Linda's House" project was born. It was a pure step of faith, but I believed it was of God.

Wonderful friends from all over helped us with the funds to buy the lot and build the house. It was 4.5 years in building and we moved in on Oct 12, 2007.

I had a running record of contributors and amounts, with the intention of writing a thank you note to each one - though some who gave for the project were already in Heaven by the time it was finished!.

Then my computer crashed and I lost the list. But in these past few days the Lord has reminded me that I still need to thank you for your generous help in getting that project done! Linda loves the house! So do I. I walk on the roof most mornings real early, praying, and so many times telling the Lord, "I'm walking on a miracle!"

So I am sending a photo or two and miles de gracias (thousands of thanks) to all who had anything to do with getting this house for Linda.

God bless you! Your special "Linda's House" gifts are being enjoyed every day by the two of us.

In Him,
Roger

Update November 27

Greetings and Thanksgiving Blessings from Mexico,

“Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.” 1 Chron 16.8 (NIV)

I am sending a short Update this week – together with November’s Good News prayer letter and a page or two of Our Story series.

Five people prayed for salvation at Angulo last week. We celebrated an Encounter Retreat where 12 people received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and 10 new people ready for water baptism.

Linda is better – ever so slightly, but she is better. Your prayers are working! Thanks for praying for her.

As I tell in the Good news letter – cousin Steve Collins and I had a great time in Salamanca last weekend.

Next Thursday through Sunday we have our Angulo church annual missions time. A couple from Turkey are our invitees this time. We don’t tell their names openly nor publicize their work much, for security’s sake. Do pray for a good missions conference with them.

Linda and I trust you had a wonderful time on Thanksgiving with family, friends and loved ones.

Have a great day tomorrow at worshiping God.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update November 20

Greetings blessings from Guadalajara.

"He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good." Proverbs 19.8

Its Saturday morning. I am getting my stuff together for a trip to the city of Salamanca in Guanajuato state. My cousin Steve will ride shotgun, since Linda is not up to making the trip. However, she IS up to my making the trip - and that's progress. I haven't dared get too far away for some time. The neighbors are home for the weekend, too, so she has help close by if needed. But we don't expect that will be necessary.

We had 3 people pray for salvation at Angulo Sunday. Another at Tepic and one more at Buenos Aires mission. Praise God.
Much of our team is out at the camp this weekend for an Encounter Retreat. Please pray for a powerful encounter with God on the part of every person there.

Steve and I are going to minister at our Salamanca Centro de Fe (Faith Center) for a double anniversary; the pastor and his wife are celebrating their silver anniversary, and the church is celebrating its 35th anniversary! We are anticipating a great weekend.

I am sending another selection of "our story" with this email. I hope it blesses you. And inspires you to keep prayng for us.

Have a great time in Father's House tomorrow with some of His kids where you are.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update November 13

Greetings and blessings from Acatlán de Juárez,

“May the LORD show his constant love during the day, so that I may have a song at night, a prayer to the God of my life.” Psalm 42.8 (GNB)

Let’s start with Linda. In July she was in the hospital with a severe esophagus Candida infection. It affected her voice and was the cause of a stomach ulcer and internal bleeding which caused anemia and general weakness.

Friday we had an appointment to see the doctor. In the discussion we suggested another endoscopy to check on the esophagus and ulcer (since the voice or stomach problems seemed to be persisting.)

So, instead of a short appointment with the doctor, we ended up an all day ordeal (especially for Linda) and an endoscopy at 4:30 P.M. Got home at 8:45 P.M. (Almost 11 hours from when we left home in the morning.) And Linda could not eat anything until after the endoscopy.

We´ll get the results back this week – but everything looked pretty normal. Only the anemia and physical weakness continue to be a problem. Your prayers are MUCH appreciated.

We had 3 pray for salvation at Angulo, 2 at the Estadio mission and three at the Buenos Aires mission.

The Church of Guadalajara had the annual Marcha por Jesús (Jesus March) yesterday. That is always an event of impact in the city.

Next weekend I will be in the city of Salamanca helping our pastor here celebrate the church’s 25th anniversary. And December 1-4 is our annual missions conference at Angulo church.

Our new address for donations to the ministry here is:
Power Planting International
P O Box 277
Waxahachie, TX 75168-0277

God bless you. We trust you had a meaningful meeting with the Lord and His people in a local body somewhere today.

In Him,

Roger & Linda

Update November 6

Greetings and blessings in Jesus,

“For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.” Ps 5.12 (NIV)

We had 2 people pray for salvation last week. A group of us pastors met again with the mayor of Guadalajara. (The photo is from a previous meeting we had with him.)

Next Saturday is the annual “Marcha por Jesús” (March for Jesus) here in Guadalajara. Every year there are more and more people marching. Prayer movements, church unity and evangelism are slowly bringing change to this great city.

Linda is up and down, really. The stomach problems come and go in intensity. (I think the ulcer that formed as a result of the esophagus problem is the cause.) She is still anemic, and therefore weak. We continue praying for her and believing for her healing. Thanks SO much for your prayers and concern for her.

We are also gearing up for our missions week (December 1-4.) Our dream, our vision is to see our young people hear the call and be able to serve the master in other nations.

I have attached another episode of the story of our ministry in Mexico.

God bless you. Have a wonderful time worshiping God and serving others in His Name and with His love tomorrow and all next week!

In Him,

Roger & Linda

Update October 30

Greetings and Choice Blessings from Mexico!

"The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace." Psalm 29.11

Wars, rumors of war. Cartel violence, bombings and "occupations", unemployment and uncertainty for the future...and yet He gives US peace! John 14.27 et.al.

Our pastor in Tepic reports shootouts in the streets there. The same goes on in the city of Colima. The Panamerican games are going on in Guadalajara...but tourism is not as was expected because of the violence reported in the media. But WE have peace! Thank you, Lord.

And our message is about the Prince of Peace.

Linda and I celebrated our 54th anniversary this past week. And the beginning ouf our 57th year of ministry in missions. And we can only talk about how faithful the Lord has been across those years.

Linda is so-so. I mean in areas there seems to be some progress, and in other areas, no. No weight gain as yet. Very little strength and energy. But her stomach is better today. Hemoglobin low and kidney function under par. But our faith is in the Great Physician and His promises.

I am attaching a few more paragraphs about our work here in Mexico.

Your prayers are such a tremendous blessing. Thank you for praying and believing with us.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update October 23

Greetings from Mexico on a beautiful Autumn day!

"God’s divine power has given us everything we need for life and for godliness. This power was given to us through knowledge of the one who called us by his own glory and integrity." 2 Peter 1.2-3

Earlier this year we bagan to use story telling (Bible stories, of course) in our children's classes and cell groups.

Sister Refugio emailed me this testimony this week. She and her mother went to visit a very sick aunt. They found her in the crowded hospital, in a hallway on a stretcher on the floor. She looked more dead than alive, and unable to communicate with them.

Refugio remembered the story of the paralytic (Mark 2) that we had used in the story telling class recently. She told the story to her aunt, though the aunt appeared to be unconcious. Refugio went away for a few minutes; her mother stayed. When Refugio returned the aunt had her eyes open and was able to talk to them.

We had three pray for salvation at Angulo, one at El Estadio mission as well as one who received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Blessings. Have a great experience of worship in His House with others of the Family.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update October 16

Autumn greetings from Dallas, Texas.

“O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. “ Psalm 105.1-2

We had three people come to the Lord at Angulo Sunday. Attendance was down because of the extremely heavy traffic caused by the Pan-American Games that are being celebrated in Guadalajara these days (October 9-31) Terrible traffic congestion, wonderful days of evangelistic opportunity! Pray that many athletes and visitors come to know the Lord during these games.

I haven’t received reports from the missions and other outreaches yet from last week’s activities. But 3 came to Him at Angulo.

I have been in Dallas since last Saturday. Change is so uncomfortable, so sure to come, sooner or later. I have resigned as president of Missionary Revival Crusade, and most fittingly, the youngest son of the founder, Bro Daniel Ost, has been elected the new president.

I served as president for 27 years (less 4 months) after Bro Danny founded MRC and served 27 year until his death. Please pray for Ben and Debbie Ost in this new adventure.

Linda and I have formed our own tax deductible ministry, called Power Planting International. You have seen that name before. It was the name of our branch under Missionary Revival Crusade. (Each missionary has his own branch and branch name under MRC’s covering.)

So now, instead of receiving donations through MRC we will be receiving them directly to Power Planting (PPI.) Our new address for those donations is:

Power Planting International
P O Box 277
Waxahachie, TX 75168-0277

I talked to Linda this morning. She continues to improve in her health. Her kidneys are not responding on the same level as the rest of her body – so we ask you to pray about that, please.

Linda and I will celebrate 54 years of marriage later this month. Then in January we will begin our 46th year of missionary service in Mexico. Previously we had served 12 years in Texas, Oklahoma and Puerto Rico. God has been so FAITHFUL all these years. And how we praise Him for it. We look forward to as many more years of service as the Lord will give us life and strength!

Thank you for YOUR prayers! Have a joyful time in Father’s House with His people, worshiping Him tomorrow.

In His Grace,
Roger & Linda

Update October 9

Greetings and Multiplied Blessings in Jesus.

Linda and I read (among others) Psalm 67 this morning. A true missionary psalm! God's blessings on us enable us to carry the message to the nations so that they can join us in praising and worshiping God!

"God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations." vv.1-2

This will really be short, because I am flying in the morning to Dallas for an MRC (Missionary Revival Crusade) board meeting. I will report more on this momentous meeting later. Right now just appreciate your prayers for travel and the meeting itself. (On Tuesday Oct 11.) Meantime I have a bunch of other preparatory meetings and conferences to take care of. I will be back home on the 19th.

The Pan American Games are being hosted by Guadalajara - starting the 14th, though the traffic is already noticeably heavier. This is a big evangelistic opportunity - please pray that the maximum results can be realized fro the Kingdom these days. The games end on the 31st of October.

I am sending a "chapter" of "Our Story" along. The links to these stories are along the right side of this page.

God bless you this weekend. Tanks for your prayers.

Oh. A couple from the Angulo church will be looking after Linda - though she is MUCH better! Praise God.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update October 2

Greetings from Beautiful Mexico.

“"This is my promise to them," says the LORD. "My Spirit, who is on you, and my words that I put in your mouth will not leave you. They will be with your children and your grandchildren permanently," says the LORD.” Isaiah 59.21 (GWV)

A beautiful day in Mexico…some clouds, plenty of sunshine after a night of electrical storms and heavy rains. Clouds, too because our electricity was off all day…sunshine because a kind brother helped us get back in service! Praise the Lord. However he was not able to get my computer running again. Something seems to have shorted out when the lights went off. So I am struggling with an unfamiliar laptop.

People prayed for salvation in most of the services and activities this week…we had a good area pastors’ meeting on Monday. Pastors from our five state area gathered at the Tapatio Center church in Tlaquepaque for some anointed preaching, rich fellowship and good food (Pozole.)

Since I am having such a battle with the equipment I am not accustomed to using, I am going to
cut this short. I do have a couple of pics (a baptism and pastors’ meeting.) And I am attaching an
article about Acámbaro in the series about our ministry in Mexico.

I do want to get it out – your prayers for us here are so important. Thank you for praying!

In His Grace,
Roger & Linda

Update September 25

Greetings and blessings in Jesus.

"Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle." Psalm 24.7-8

What a wonderful privilege to serve the King of Kings. Nehemiah had a special place and privilege serving his king in Persia. Daniel and his friends served the king(s) of Babylon, and Joesph served the mighty Pharoah of Egypt. But none of them compared in the least whit to our King! His power, glory and riches far surpass all of those put together!

His Kingdom IS coming...in all the world, and in Mexico, too! Praise God.

Linda is better! Going with me tomorrow - its a nine hour event; going, coming and ministering. Pray she'll be strong enough to make it through.

We believe she is ready for it. She did well on the special September 16 service. That was just a 4.5 hour thing.

I am sending along another "chapter" of "Our Story."

Your prayers and encouragement are so helpful. We thank you and love you for it.

Have a wonderful day in Father's house wherever you are tomorrow.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update September 18

Greeting and blessings from Mexico!

“Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. How awesome is the LORD Most High, the great King over all the earth!” Psalm 47.1-2

I am going to try to be very brief this time. I have two attachments – our monthly Power Planting International prayer letter and a short chapter of the “Our Story” series.

We had a great time last night, celebrating Mexico’s Independence Day. Linda was up to going. It was her first service at church in three months! She was worn out when we got home, but she made it through! Everyone was glad to see her – and she, them.

As always – your prayers are so important to us and the ministry here. We appreciate them very much!

Have a great day tomorrow worshiping our Heavenly Father.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update September 11

Greetings from the Beautiful land of Mexico!

Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. Psalm 110:3

Together with the whole country, Linda and I are remembering the horrific attack against our nation a decade ago. That was the day our world and way of life in general was so drastically changed. We experienced on our own soil what others have lived for many years. The world has become a dangerous place, but always we remember that God is on His Throne and in full control.

Haggai speaks a God shaking the nations, and then the Desire of nations will come. In the midst of drug wars in Mexico, threats of terrorism in the United States, slavery, hatred, wars and rumors of war – the Church has a message and finds hearts open to it as never before. In a hopeless age, we have a message of hope to proclaim.

This week we received letters from the Tepic maximum security prison. A former satanist; a former drug cartel member and several others are studying the Bible courses we sent them. They listen to our Agua Viva broadcast in Tepic every morning – through it they have come to the Lord and their live have been transformed. So. We discover we have a prison ministry, and didn’t even know it. PTL.

Six people came to the Lord this past week – our missions and outreaches are bearing fruit. And we are ready for Independence day here in Mexico. September 16. Please pray we can see a large number of new people come to the Lord in that service.

We celebrated with brother José Cruz and his family. José had his 100th birthday last week.

Linda is BETTER. Getting better every day, too! Thank you so much for helping pray her through that crisis and back to health.

God bless you – have a great time in His House tomorrow with His people, worshiping Him.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update September 4

Update for 04 Sept 2011

Greetings and blessings from Mexico,

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jer 33.3

Praise the Lord for answers to prayer. I refer especially right now to Linda and her condition. She is MUCH better. Thanks to everyone who has been and is praying. She woke up this morning making plans for a nation-wide Titus 2 convention for next year! So – she’s planning on being here at least another year!

We had baptisms last Sunday. Five – mostly children. (Pics attached.) Michelle had to preach a little before she was immersed! And another couple received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit Sunday.

The father-in-law of one of our pastors passed away this past week. The whole family has been very Catholic, and not open to the Gospel. But Manuel, the father-in-law, did receive the Lord a little while before his death. Pastor Octavio preached at the funeral home, and some 20 of the family indicated a desire to receive the Lord. Pastor Martín, the son-in-law, preached at the burial, held in Manuel’s home town.

As I mentioned last week – the whole country is gearing up for the September 16 Independence Day, and so are we. I appreciate your prayers for that service – that we can see a good number of new people come to the Lord.

A young airline hostess and her mother were in the service Sunday. Found out about us through the Agua Viva radio program. I am continually amazed at how the Lord anoints and blesses those little 15 minute daily programs. But He does, and we are glad!

As always, we are acutely aware of the partnership we have with you as we minister the Word here in Mexico. Your prayers, help and love are a vital part of all we do in this land. Thank you! And God bless you!

Enjoy fellowship with Him and His people in His House tomorrow.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update August 28

Greetings and Blessings from Guadalajara, Mexico.

“I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
Psalm 27.13-14

Our pastor in the Tapatio Center informed us of the first service in the Tateposco area of Guadalajara. They have 6 cell groups in the area and are meeting in a loaned building while paying for the land to build another Centro de Fe.

Pastor Octavio reported 8 young men praying for salvation in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Guadalajara. It is a heavily drug infested area. In the follow up visit there this week they saw 16 more people accept the Lord.

The Tepic pastor reported an outstanding banquet and service for the Titus 2 graduation last Friday. Forty-two couples were present...over 100 in total attendance. Many of the husbands had not received the Lord but some of them did Friday night.

We are gearing up for the September 16 Independence Day service here at the Angulo Center. Please pray with us for a good harvest of precious souls at that service.

Linda is getting better day by day. Your prayers are working! Praise the Lord. I have had some very good help taking care of here these past couple of weeks – Joy Ost from Mexico City, grand daughter Heather from Dallas, and right now my sister Kay from Memphis. All have been a real blessing.

As always we are express our gratefulness for your prayers for us and the Lord’s work here. Your prayers are so important, and encourage us greatly.

Have a wonderful day tomorrow in Father’s House...enjoy worshiping Him and fellowship with some of His other kids.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update August 21

Greetings in the Wonderful Name of Jesus.

"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name..." Php 2:9

Our youth pastor, Octavio Nava and his assistant, Beto Nolasco were making a follow up visit this week. A little old lady from Guanajuato state has been listening to our Agua Viva program for a long time. She recently moved to Guadalajara and visited the Angulo Center.

But Octavio and Beto couldn’t locate her house. Nevertheless, in their search they came upon eight young guys hanging out by some boulders in a field. Octavio and Beto began to talk with them, and then to share the Gospel. Before they were through, all eight of them had accepted the Lord. Their photo is attached to this update.

Then a lady called the church this week from the town of Tototlán (about an hour from Guadalajara.) She has been listening t the Agua Viva program for three years. She asked for someone from the Angulo Center to visit her husband in the Civil Hospital nearby. Octavio went.

He found her husband with a terribly gangrenous foot, and the doctors were planning on amputating it the next day. Octavio talked to him about the Lord. He wasn’t ready to receive the Lord yet – he was a Catholic man. Octavio read and explained Mark 16 to him, and then prayed for him.

Three days later the man called Octavio to come see him. The next day after their prayer, the doctors noticed the foot was not as bad. Maybe they would only need to amputate part of the foot. By the third day the foot was healed; no amputation was necessary. And the man was ready to receive the Lord! Praise God.

Thank you for being a praying partner with us in the ministry here. Every testimony we share – you are a part of the answer because you prayed.

Linda is a little bit better today. That, too, is because so many are praying. Joy Ost was here helping last week. Then our grand daughter Heather – who returned home to Dallas today - was here to help. My sister from Memphis arrives Monday to help for a while. We are so blessed, and so grateful for all who stand with us in the work and the trials.

God bless you richly as you worship Him with the saints in His House tomorrow.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update August 14

Greetngs and Blessings from Mexico.

"For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich." 2 Cor 8.9

I have been thinking a lot about grace lately. God's unmerited favor to us as well as His divine ability in us to do His will. Sufficient grace, saving grace, giving grace.

2 Corinthians start and ends with Grace. My prayer for you is in that last verse, "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen."

Just a short report (really) this week.

Joy Ost is here for a few days, helping take care of Linda. Joy is a great blessing. I do believe that Linda is a tiny bit better today. Thank so much for your prayers.

Titus 2 graduation was last night in Tepic. God truly blessed those sessions. Such a simple course of teaching that God has mighitly anointed and uses powerfully to bless His women and their marriages. I got call from a lady this week looking to talk to Linda about another round of Titus 2 in their church. She was in Linda's first Titus 2 teachings there, and her life and marriage were transformed.

We have begun the renewed activity at the Ocotlán mission. Ocotlán is a city of some 200,000 people. I have a radio program there that also broadcasts over the Internet. Two new families became a part of the Ocotlán work last week, and some new people received the Lord there.

Your prayers for us and the ministry are SO vital! And for Linda these days, such an encouragement to us both! Thank you!

Have a wonderful time in His House tomorrow.

Pics of the renewed Ocotlán work and setting in the pastor, Jorge Solis and his wife, Fabiola.

In His Grace!
Roger & Linda

Update August 7

Greetings from Mexico,

“How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! ...For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.” Psalm 36

Just a short email this week – and a prayer letter attachment.

Linda is home from the hospital, but still very weak. Please continue to pray for her.

Youth camp was a tremendous event. I don’t know yet how many got saved, how many received the Baptism in the Spirit, as well as other things God did in their lives. But it was a powerful week!

We had 6 baptized in water last Sunday. 2 new people came to Jesus in the Tepic mission and a bunch made decisions with the ministry of a group from New York at our Tapatio and Ocotlán churches.

News just came of the Home going of one of our dearest friends. Bob Bishop, for so many years director and president of Globe Missionary Evangelism received his beckon from the Savior. Our prayers and love are with Beth and her family.

Every week I repeat myself – thanking you for your prayers and support. I do it because we literally could not be here and serve the Lord without your partnership. So, again, thank you!

Have a glorious day celebrating Life in Father’s House tomorrow.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Linda is Home August 1

Thank you for praying. I brought Linda home from the hospital today at noon. She has a way to go yet, but is much better. "Better" enough to come home from the hospital!
Praise the Lord!

Saturday, July 30, 2011

Update July 31

Greetings from Mexico.

“Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” Ps 29.1-2

I am writing this from the TerraNova hospital here in the city of Guadalajara. I brought Linda here on Wednesday afternoon late.

Linda had been having trouble with anemia and as a result very limited strength. There were days when she was better, but then on Friday night she fell in the house and (we found out later) cracked 3 ribs.

She was really hurting and we decided it was time to go to the hospital. Tests have revealed several severe problems in the esophagus region, as well as gastritis and an ulcer in the anterior part of her stomach.

She is looking better, and we believe her healing is coming.
Thank you for your prayers in all of this.

Normally today I would be at the youth camp preaching, but with Linda’s situation as it is, I am foregoing that delight. I do plan on preaching tomorrow at the Angulo downtown church.

The youth camp is a highlight of the year. God always does some wonderful things in the lives of those attending. This is the 25th anniversary of the camp. I will probably have some pics for next week.

I am sending another “chapter” in the story of our ministry in Mexico. God has been so faithful. We give Him all praise and glory forever.
And, once again, your prayers are so important – so encouraging. Thank you.

BTW - They tell me there won't be another month like this one for 823 years! 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays all in the same month.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update July 24

Greetings and blessings in Jesus.

"THE LORD is my Shepherd , I shall not lack." Ps 23.1 (Amp)

I was reading this this morning with Linda (July 23, we read Ps 23, 53, 83, 113, 143 and Prov 23.) What a wonderful thing to know and have Jesus as our shephers; we are sheep of His Hand. Ps 95.7 (I get to thinking about His Hand! Wonderful!)

Linda's report - she is better. The doctor looked at the lab reports and was very happy. She is not well, but she is better. The hemoglobin count is (very slightly) up and the creatinin count is (very slightly) down. But he was happy with it. Nevertheless, she is still very weak, no appetite and on top of it all fell the other night and hurt her ribs. So we thank the Lord for the improvement but continue to pray for her REAL healing.

I didn't get my emails out last week. I was down with some kind of stomach virus. So Linda and I were both home sick last Sunday. But I got over mine quickly, Praise God.

Last week we had 2 pray for salvation at Angulo and three at Los Fresnos. Another at Tepic. This Sunday 2 people prayed at Angulo. We have a baptismal service planned for next Sunday.

Our annual Youth Camp is this week (July 26-31.) This is the silver anniversary camp! We are expecting God to do powerful things in all our lives this week at camp. Please pray.

I wrote another "chapter" of the ministry story - raw, unedited. Just hope not too many typos -I'm tired and about to quit here.

Have a wonderful day in the House of the Lord where you are with His people and His Word.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update July 10

Rainy days Greetings from Acatlán,

“I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.” Psalm 9.1-2

A heart full of praise, testimony of all His blessings, a joyful and thankful spirit. That’s how I am as I sit down to write this update!

One of our men went through a 6 hour heart surgery Friday. He is doing well. Linda is doing better; a little more strength each day. We had a wonderful anniversary celebration at the Angulo downtown Faith Center (seven people came to the Lord, too.) Two more people prayed for salvation at the Estadio mission and the young people and the Los Fresnos missions were blessed with decisions, as well.

René, one of our young men rode in a taxi a while back. Discovered the taxi driver was a mute, unable to talk. René asked if he could pray for him. Last week René took a taxi again, and it turned out to be the same driver. And now he can talk! PTL!

I placed a short video on Facebook of the mariachi playing and the congregation participating.
Go to my page, Roger Grampa West on FB and check it out.

I preach at the Tapatio Center early tomorrow as well as the Angulo service at midday. I would appreciate your prayers. They are a very real blessing and help!

I am including another page or two of “Our Story” along with this update.

Have a great time in Father’s House with some of His other kids!

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update July 3

Greetings from Mexico and a happy 4th of July to you!

“Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!” Psalm 31.19

The rainy season has begun – cooler weather accompanied with electrical storms and strong winds, flooded underpasses and side streets, but a nice change from the heat, nevertheless!

We had people come to the Lord in Tepic, Estadio mission, the Angulo young people, the Ocotlán Center and the Tapatio Center. Baptisms are in preparation for a nymber of new believers.

Last week Pastor Juan Acosta went to Puerto Vallarta to help them celebrate their 6th anniversary. Tomorrow we celebrate Angulo Center church’s 37th anniversary! Only Heaven knows how many people have gotten saved, healed and delivered at Angulo across those many years. All praise and glory to God!

Linda is stronger – still has a very weak voice. Please pray for that. She was sought after for a large women’s meeting here in the city (she spoke there last year) but was not able to accept because of her very weak voice.

I am attaching our June Good News from Mexico letter to the email this week. I did (barely) get it out in June. Also another piece of our ministry history in Mexico.

God is blessing His church, advancing His Kingdom and gathering a great harvest of precious people for Kingdom mission. You are a vital part of it all through your faithful prayers. Thank you. God bless!

Have a great day with the saints in church tomorrow!

In Him,

Roger & Linda

Update June 26

Greetings and Blessings in Jesus.

"For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly." Psalm 84.11

This has been a rather "ordinary" week. The regular meetings and activities and services. We did have people come to the Lord at Angulo, Tepic and in some of the cells and missions. We are using Bible storytelling in our smaller meetings - missions and cells. It has proven very effective. And people are responding. Some of those who made decisions made them as the result of hearing a Bible story.

Linda is better. She had several visitors this past week. She hasn't been up to that before now! She's feeling better and looking better - but still has a way to go to "normal." Than you so much for your prayers for her.

Our Tapatio Center pastor, Miguel Espidio has 4 cell groups in a far corner of Guadalajara. One of the cell leaders donated a lot and another new sister is selling the lot next to that one for $3000 (which has been paid already.) The third lot is for the regular price of $9000 USD. These lots are 25' by 65'. The three together are enough for our next church building. Your prayers are appreciated for the supply of the $9,000 still needed.

The Puerto Vallarta Center is celebrating their 6th anniversary this Sunday. Next Sunday the Angulo Center here in Guadalajara (mother church) will celebrate 37 years! More about that next time.

Thank you for your prayers and encouraging messages. What a blessing you are to us here.

Have a wonderful and exciting day in Father's House wherever you are tomorrow.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update June 19

Greetings and Grace blessings in Jesus.

"The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands." Ps 138.8

Linda is slightly better. We claimed the above verse for her total healing as we had devotions together this morning. Thank you for prayers. Please don't quit.

Three people came to the Lord in Angulo last Sunday. I don't have the other reports yet.

Happy Father's day all you fathers. God bless you!

I am sending along part 5 of the San Isidro story. I have been encouraged by positive comments concerning my rustic efforts at putting these things down.

Have a glorious time in His house tomorrow worshiping Him.

In Jesus,
Roger & Linda

Update June 12

Greetings and blessing in Jesus.

"And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." Luke 9.23

I was impressed with the disciple's response to Jesus' call (Mat.4) He said, "Follow Me and I will make you become fishers of men." And they left all immediately and followed Him. They didn't ask "Where", "Why", "For how long" - they just began to follow Him. That's the same kind of response He expects from us today!

I didn't get my update out yesterday - a powerful wind storm followed by a terrible electrical storm knocked out all electrical power. The rainy season has begun here! A good change (cooler) in climate with some undesireable side effects.

We had a good week with Paul and Teresa Koehler learning more about Storying (Bible story telling.) Paul ministered 9 times while here and they were both a blessing. We had a good regional pastors' meeting last Monday. And a powerful youth meeting Saturday. Then three days of workshop meetings on Tuesday through Thursday.

Three people prayed for salvation at Angulo in the service. One of our young pastors, Octavio, was sharing a Bible story with a lady. She accepted the Lord as a result. Others had similar testimonies to share.

I appreciate your prayers for Linda. She is a little better, but still not well. No pain at present, but also no energy or strength. Thanks for praying for her...us.

I am sending along another episode in the series of our time in San Isidro.

In His Grace,
Roger & Linda

Update June 5

" I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth." Psalm 34.1

Greetings and Blessings from Mexico!

This will be a short one - got back from grand daughter's wedding and some preaching appointments - Linda really under the weather - so been getting ready for this weekend and next week amidst doctor's visits and lab tests. Pray for her, please.

Paul and Theresa Koehler are with us for a few days - we are finding out all we can about Bible story telling from them. We aren't letting them have a vacation.

Both of them ministered to the monthly Youth meeting Saturday night and Paul ministered in three of our area churches today.

Tomorrow they will minister morning and evening to our pastors from five states at our quarterly meeting.

Tuesday through Thursday they will minister in workshops for our folks to learn to be better stortytellers.

Please pray for them and these activities - and for our travling pastors.

Six people prayed for salvation last Sunday at the Angulo church downtown Guadalajara. Two more prayed in our "Estadio" mission and another man prayed at the Tepic missions.

I am attaching a short chapter of our first year in Mexico along with this. As the Psalmist said, "God has done great things for us, whereof we are glad!"

Your prayers are so important and so much a reason for the blessings God is pouring out on us here in Mexico.

God bless you!

In Him,
Roger & Linda West

Update May 29

Blessings and Choice Greetings in Jesus.

"Shout praises to the LORD! Our God is kind, and it is right and good to sing praises to him." Psalm 147.1 We have so many reasons to shout and praise the Lord.

Linda and I are in Dallas for three more days. Tonight we celebrate the wedding of our greand daughter Tanya West and her fiancee Jonathan Lance. Everyone is escited...and maybe a little nervous.

Last week in Guadalajara 6 people came to the Lord at the Angulo church. Two more prayed for salvation at the Tepic mission and 276 young people celebrated a united service, where others came to Jesus for salvation. Shout praises to our God!

Linda has been a little slow this week - but seems to be doing better over all. But please keep her in your prayers. Especially that she will have the strength for the trip back to Guadalajara on Tuesday.

I am sending along this months' Good News from Mexico letter as an attachment.

Have a blessed day in Father's House tomorrow somewhere, and a thankful Memorial Day on Monday.

Again, thank you for your prayers for us and the ministry.

In Him,

Roger and Linda

Update May 15

Greetings and blessings in Jesus.

A short report today. Getting ready for th services tomorrow and a mid-week trip to Texas for our grand daughters wedding. (She graduated today from SMU.)

Pray for Linda's strength for the trip. It's a close call - whether she has the strength - but her grandmother's is pushing her. We discovered that she is very anemic.

We had 3 saved at the youth meeting and one after the service Sunday. Our Tapatio Center team is preparing for an evangelistic outreach in Ocotlán. (A city 60 miles away where the work is being reestablished after a pastor fell. Please pray for that effort.)

Our Puerto Vallarta Center recently celebrated a water baptismal service. Pics below. Today our team from the Tabachines Center is helping the fifth Titus 2 session in Tepic.

I got an email from one of my ministry sons - hadn't heard from him for a long time. He reports he is carrying on the work in one of the villages we worked many years ago.

Good news from all around. praise the Lord.

Urgent prayer request - one of our dear pastor friends and his wife asked us to get you to pray. Lety is dealing with breast cancer, and right in the midst of that the doctors discovered a tumor in her right lung - a very aggressive form of cancer. Please pray for her healing.

God bless you. Have a great time with God's folks in His House tomorrow.

In Him,

Roger & Linda

Update May 1

Greetings and blessing from central Mexico.

Well, we have already spent April – and the third part of another year! I am cncerned that we know why the Lord has us here, and that we are busily focused on that.

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” (KJV)
“Teach us to use wisely all the time we have.” (CEV)

In 1967 we planted our first congregation here in Mexico – in the state of Nuevo León (where so much of the drug related violence is going on now.) Chano Flores and his wife, Isidra have been the faithful leaders of the work there over the last 44 years. The congregation has grown and they have planted a daughter church in a nearby village.

Chano travels all over that area, ministering to different pastors and their congregations. It is a very risky business, but he is diligent in carrying out his calling. Would you please pray for his safety as he comes and goes?

Linda is better in many ways – but still cannot seem to gain weight and still has very limited energy level. Thank you for your prayers for her, as well.

The husband of one of the ladies taking the Titus 2 course in Tepic came to the Lord last Sunday.

On Wednesday Rosalba is undergoing a rather extensive abdominal surgery. She is the wife of our youth pastor, Octavio Nava. Your prayers are needed and appreciated.

I am attaching a short article concerning our call and work in Mexico. I send it as a thankful testimony of the Lord’s faithfulness and goodness.

Have a wonderful day in Father’s House on Sunday.

And, again – thanks for your prayers for all of us here.

In Him,

Roger & Linda

Update April 24

Greetings from Guadalajara - the city of the Holy Spirit!

"Why do you seek the living One among the dead?... He is not here, but He has risen." Lk 24.5-6

Isn't is a grand thing that we celebrate? Jesus, our Savior and Lord, Conqueror of death and Giver of Life! Of course we celebrate that reality every day that we live! And never forget that we have a Heavenly calling and divine commission to take that message to the nations.

Last week 2 people came to the Lord in the Estadio mission. In Tepic the fourth Titus 2 session was given. 50 women were present. God is doing a wonderful work in the hearts of those ladies through these studies. Tepic is a center of violence in the Mexican drug war - yet the church moves forward in faith and victory.

We are going through some "rough stuff" in the work here at the moment. Its not really something we can share - but would request your prayers for victory.

I am sending along our April Good News from Mexico prayer letter. This would be Vol 45, No. 4. We praise the Lord for you, your prayers and support and your friendship and love. You help keep us here, sharing the wonderful and powerful Gospel of the Kingdom in Mexico and beyond.

Have a joyful thankful and worshipful Resurrection Sunday.

In Him,

Roger and Linda

Update April 17

Greetings and Blessings from Mexico.

It is "Holy Week" here (Semana Santa) and multitudes of people are heading for the beaches. Which means the cities are quieter, the air cleaner, and the streets clear of traffic congestion. For my money, all that is better than the crowded beach covered with people. This is also a very religious time in Mexico - and a time when people can be reached for the Lord. Pray with us that it will be a fruitful time.

One of our pastors ministered to an uncle on his death-bed this week. He prayed to receive the Lord, as did several others in the family. 2 people prayed for salvation at Tepic, also.

Speaking of Tepic, (and many other Mexican cities) - the kidnapping and killing continues. In many of these places pastors and ministers (Rehab centers, etc) are the targets.

Last Sunday a pastor in Michoacán state was taken from his pulpit during the service and kidnapped. One of our own young ladies in the Angulo church was kidnapped 3 weeks ago. The kidnappers asked an astronomical amount of money to get her back. When the father said he didn't have it, they threatened to kill her. But prayer prevailed, and after several days she was released. Please pray for the release of the Michoacán pastor, too. He is Josué Ramírez Santiago.

We are reopening the work in the city of Ocotlán this Sunday. The former pastor fell into sin and the recovery period has been painful, but we are ready to move forward again there. Your prayers for that ministry are appreciated.

God bless you. May the Holy Spirit make Jesus real in every service where the Word is preached - and may God's richest blessings be yours.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update April 10

Greetings and Multiplied blessings,

"Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied" Jude 2

I just got back early this morning from San Diego, CA where I attended the military funeral service for my dad. I met my sisters in San Diego, and together with my dad's wife, daughter-in-law and a bunch of Wests I hadn't known before we attended the service. He was buried at the Fort Rosecrans Military Cemetary beside my little brother who died in 1957 . There are over 100,000 veterans buried at Rosecrans.

We had 2 pray for salvation at Angulo Sunday, 2 more in the youth meeting and one at the Tepic mission.

I was in a pastors' meeting on Tuesday. One of the pastors came up to me and introduced himself - he had been one of our "problem" kids in Sunday School in the early days of our work in Guadalajara. He said I was always on his case, trying to make him behave in the services. He is now pastoring a church here in Guadalajara. Praise the Lord for how He works in the lives of people.

Linda and I are praying this Sunday through Wednesday for the Pensacola area missions conferences. We cannot be there this year - wish we could, but our prayers are with all there for a tremendous anointing and outpouring of thre Spirit of missions.

I pray the Lord bless you in His House tomorrow with that abundance of mercy, peace and love.

In Him,

Roger & Linda

Update April 3

Greetings and Grace Blessings in Jesus.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has crowned us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ" (Ehp 1.3 - Weymouth)

Last Sunday one person came to the Lord at Angulo and another at the Estadio mission service. We baptized three ladies in water, also. We are already through one quarter of 2011! 44 people have come to the altar at Angulo this year, so far this year. Praise God for each one. Yet...still so many unreached. The words of Jesus continue to be true - The Harvest is great, the laborers few.

We have 3 groups of INSTE students studying and preparing for service, plus another group in the ISOM video school. The urgency for laborers is great!

God answers prayer! (Well, you alrady knew that.) Several people we have prayed together for have been healed, or their condition greatly improved, In one case a pastor's young daughter was released by her kidnappers. Bro Adrie, Christian musician from Holland, found his case less dangerous and more treatable than at first thought to be.

Linda is continuing to improve in her health. She is much better this week. Still short on stamina....and needs to gain some weight! (Don't you and I wish WE had that problem?)

And the Lord has provided the Honda vehicle Linda and I have been praying for. That is, Linda and I along with you (since I mentioned the request a few months back.) Praise the Lord.

For us personally, for the work of the ministry and for Mexico and its present turmoil - thank you for your prayers. So important. So powerful. We appreciate them so much!

Have a wonderful day in Father's House tomorrow where you are - and may the Harvest continue and increase everywhere.

In His Love,

Roger & Linda

Update February 27

Greetings to you from “South of the Border Down Mexico Way”,

The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.
Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth. Psalm 115 14-15

I am writing this around recording Agua Viva programs for next month. Linda and I are flying to Dallas on March 2 for the annual MRC board meeting there. By the way you can check out our (still under construction) new web page at http://mrcintl.org/ under our new image name of Master’s Resourcing Commission. And we are making it possible to donate to us and the other MRC missionaries via PayPal.

Linda is getting better right along – this trip is a test run. I personally believe she’s going so she can see great grandbabies as much as to be at the board meeting. But who can blame her? Thanks for your prayers for her.

And thanks for all the prayers for Doris – Pastor Nicanor’s daughter. The doctors are absolutely amazed. God did a MAJOR miracle in healing her broken body. She’s home with her husband and kids now – I talked to her this morning. She’s up and about...not bedfast. Truly astounding.

We had 2 pray for salvation last Sunday and 5 received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. We also dedicated five babies to the Lord.

We would appreciate your prayers for us on this trip to Dallas, for the board meeting itself, a safe trip up and back and for Linda’s strength. Your prayers have been so effective! James 5.16 is working.

Have a wonderful and EXCITING day in the Lord’s House tomorrow.

In Him,

Roger & Linda

Update February 20

Greetings and Blessings,

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
Jer 33.3,6

Thank you for your prayers!
1. Linda's surgery was completetly successful. She spent one night in the hospital, and has done very well since the operation.
2. Doris has made miraculous progress since the terrible car accident. She was in ICU for 2 days before anything could be started in the way of treatment. She was operated on to move broken ribs away from vital organs they were presurring. The doctors are amazed at her progress. God answered prayer!

We had 6 people pray for salvation last week at the Angulo church. 2 in the service and 4 young people at their banquet.Pastor Osvaldo at the El Salto church reported 8 new decisions and the Pastor Rigo at Mérida reported a series of asthma healings there, as well as new people coming to the Lord.

Your prayers are so valuable, essential! So much of what God does here, we know, is because people like you are praying for us and the ministry. Thank you.

In your prayers please remember to pray about the violence of the drug cartels and the gangsters here in Mexico. Another warning has been issued by the Mexican Consulate here concerning all of that.

Have an exciting worship experience in Father's House with His other kids tomorrow.

In Him,
Roger & Linda
