Update April 1

Greetings and Blessings from Guadalajara.

Today is the 31st of the month. Linda and I read Psalm 119 on the 31st. I suggest it is GOOD reading!

Look at verses 9-11, 105, 126, 130, 165, and so many more! Might as well go ahead and read the whole Psalm.

"Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them." v. 165

I was in Arlington at David Kerr's church for their annual missions conference...their 22nd conference!

It was good, encouraging - the folks at The Vine Fellowship are a gracious, loving bunch of people. Their pastors set the example!

Saw some of my kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Then, last might I saw my wife! Wonderful. No place like home! Really the week WAS great, but is so good to be home!

We had a really blessed week here (while I was away!) Excellent attendance, 5 people prayed for salvation, 23 baptized in water and the children's church did an excellent job with the pre-sermon drama of the story of the week. (In this case, the paralytic and his 4 friends.)

Can you believe it is April already? Resurrection Sunday is almost upon us! Of course every day is resurrection day for the believer! He's alive! Forevermore!

Just a reminder of how much your prayers and love and encouragement mean to Linda and me. BTW, she is better...not well, but better. Better enough she's planning on going to church tomorrow.

Have a wonderful time in worship and fellowship in His House tomorrow.

In Him,
Roger

Update March 24

Greetings and blessings from Dallas, Texas!

"Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest." Jn 4.34

Just a short note this week - I am in Dallas area for the missions conference at David and Debi Kerr's church in Arlington, Texas.
Will be back in Guadalajara on Friday.

We had a wonderful week last week in Guadalajara. And Linda is a LITTLE improved in her health. A good couple from the Angulo church is staying with her while I am up here.

Thanks so much for your prayers for both of us and the ministry, too.

Have a great time in His House today!

In Him,
Roger

Update March 18

Greetings and blessings from Mexico.

“You make the path of life known to me. Complete joy is in your presence. Pleasures are by your side forever.” Psalm 16.11 (GWV)

After the explosion of turmoil last weekend things have been calm on that front all week. Praise the Lord.

That is good because it’s been a busy week with services, meetings, counseling and getting a new set of Agua Viva programs out to the stations.

I told you last week that we turned the Estadio mission loose to carry on the ministry in that part of the city on their own. Well, the Lord blessed them with five new souls on their first Sunday.

Each year the Lord gives us a theme for the year. This year the theme is “Tell HIS story, Live your story.” Our emphasis all year is on Bible story telling; in the cells, different church school classes and Sunday messages. Several wonderful testimonies are being reported as the people in the congregation share Bible stories with others during the week.

A group of young guys involved in drug trafficking; a woman who was not just uninterested in the Gospel but actively opposing our work in her neighborhood; a young lady in preparatory school; a fellow passenger on a city bus, and a taxi driver’s passenger – all gave their hearts to the Lord after hearing the stories!

So, once again Linda and I say, Thank you for praying for us and the ministry here.” Your prayers are so vital and so effective!

Have a wonderful time in His House tomorrow.

In Him,
Roger and Linda

Update March 11

Greetings from a troubled Guadalajara,

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear…” Psalm 46

Yesterday two narco leaders were captured and their cartel responded with a wave of violence all across out beautiful city. At 16 different points highways and avenues were blocked and vehicles commandeered and burned. Two people perished in the vehicle burnings.

Today things seemed to have calmed down significantly.
Praise the Lord.

I took Linda for lab work yesterday. She really had a bad week. I was concerned that we were going into the hospital again, but that was avoided. But she is doing better today. I am so thankful.

Well, there’s good news, too. One of our pastors turned in his monthly district report – 48 people came to the Lord in his district last month.

We had three pray for salvation at Angulo Sunday and others in the missions and cells.

We released one of our pastors to go full time at the Estadio mission.

We are expecting a victorious day tomorrow…here and there where you are.

Your prayers are working! Please don’t stop!

Blessings.
Roger & Linda

Update March 4

Greetings from Mexico.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Prov. 3.5-6

It looks like winter is passed and summer is coming on strong down here. Before long it will be rainy season again, when everything turns green again. Water brings life. Living water brings eternal life!

We had a good report from the Faith Center in Puerto Vallarta. Their young people took to the streets and plazas on Saturday and saw six people come to the Lord. Then on Sunday some of them came to the services and three more people received the Lord.

The Fresnos mission here in Guadalajara had 18 people (mostly children) pray for salvation, too. And others received the Lord here at Angulo, Estadio mission and Tepic mission.
Praise the Lord.

Linda is about the same. She actually lost a pound last week. She doesn’t have any to spare. I have said she is better. She is – but let me explain. Let’s say the unemployment in the USA was 10% but now it is only 9%. That’s better, but not well! That’s how it is with Linda. She’s better, but has a long way to go to be back to good health.

So, your prayers for us and the work here are most appreciated, and especially your prayers for her and her restored healthiness.

God bless you. Have a wonderful time celebrating Jesus together tomorrow with the saints there.

In Him,
Roger & Linda

Update February 26

Thankful greetings from Mexico,

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55.22

Linda and I are thankful! We’re thankful for warmer, dryer weather the last three days. We’re thankful for promises like the one above. We’re thankful for people like YOU, who pray for us and encourage us in this ministry. And we’re thankful for so much more!

We’re thankful too, for the 12 new believers in the last two weeks. Tonight we have a large united youth meeting at the Angulo Center – I expect more new believers from that, too. (By the way, last week I mistakenly made reference to April. Should have been February.)

I’m also thankful for the new missions and outreaches in the work. Our daughter-in-law’s family lives in northern California. Church friends of theirs have family in a small village (Zapotlán) near Guadalajara. The father was very seriously ill – but they could not come and were concerned about his spiritual condition. One of our pastors went out to their village and visited the family. Several, including the father, received the Lord. Weekly visits and Bible studies have been productive.

Our pastor in the city of Leon, Guanajuato heard a missionary exclaim, “What a shame that there is not a single Christian church in San Julian.” So Pastor Juan took a group from the Leon Faith Center to check it out. No one wanted to rent to them for Christian services. Finally a man did rent them a small house – saying, ”This town needs what you all bring.” Some members of the Leon Center have friends and family in San Julian.

Another new mission church is ‘way across the city of Guadalajara in the Tatepozco area. Pastors Miguel and Victor are working on the lots there, clearing the land for a building. Several believers attend the three cell groups in the area. We will soon have another congregation planted there.

Thank you again for praying and for being a part of what God is helping us do here in Mexico.

Have a richly blessed time in His House tomorrow.

In Him,
Roger & Linda
