Happy New Year

Greetings and blessings on this next to the last day of 2007. (Where did it go?)

It’s been a good year, battles along, but victories as well. God is good – All the time!

We had a pretty quiet Christmas here. A dear pastor friend and his family were with us 3 days. They took their kids different places in the day time, and we had good fellowship in the evenings.

Four people prayed for salvation last week. We had a good Christmas service and suspended some of the other activities to give our team some rest time!

Please pray for us this next week. I will be ministering in a local prophetic conference on Tuesday and preaching at our Tabachines Centro de Fe on Sunday – the 21st anniversary for Juan and Gloria Acosta as pastors there.

(Photo - Juan, Gloria and her brother Luis)

We have a church wide fast from the 4th to the 13th. We want to hear from God and see greater things for His glory (and of His glory) in 2008.

Thank you for your prayers...they are so needed and so appreciated.

Have a wonderful year ahead...and a great Lord’s Day today

Update - December 16

Greetings and blessings in Jesus.

I am late - usually have this done Saturday evening - but due to the Intenet situation at 'Linda's House', I had to wait until I got to church this morning. Nevertheless...here we are. 'Too blessed to be stressed!'

MISSIONS CONFERENCE
The missions conference was SO blessed by the Lord. We felt a real heart response from the people. A real breakthrough. The people have been responding well but e reached a new level of understanding and commitment this year. Praise God.

AGUA VIVA RADIO
Reports still come from the radio program we have had on the air in Mexico since July 1968. Our Leon, Guanajuato pastor told me last night about an engineer in the church who was born crippled...his body all doubled and drawn up...limbs useless. His mother listened to our broadcast. One day she placed his little body on the radio as we prayed for the sick. The Lord healed him completely. Now he has graduated from the university with an engineering degree! Praise the Lord!

COUPLES BANQUET
Last night Linda and I spoke at a couple's banquet at the Tabachines Faith Hope and Love Center. It as a blessed time. I spoke on 'The Spirit of a Happy Marriage.' Texts, Mal 2.15-16 and 1 Peter 3.4.

Thanks you, always, thank you for your prayers for us. Linda is really doing well, we are so blessed in so many ways. You are an important part of that blessing. GOD BLESS YOU!

Update - December 9

Greetings to you from Guadalajara, Mexico!

We are in the last 2 days of our annual missions conference here. It has been GOOD!

Missionary Chuy Perales from a misddle east country and missionary Reynaldo Torres from Senegal have been ministering. God is using them to speak to the church here about a deeper commitment to world missions.

Several of our young people have a definite call to missions. Please pray for them to take steps and make progress toward getting to the field where God is calling them.

And we have also had people saved here in the services, as we talk about lost people in other nations! Missions and soul winning, from our Jerusalem to the ends of the earth! Amen.

Have a wonderful Lord's Day - and many thanks for your prayers for us here.

In Him,
Roger and Linda

December Newsletter

Dear Friend,

Greetings in the Name of our Savior, The Lord Jesus. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

ANNUAL MISSIONS CONFERENCE
This weekend we begin celebration of our annual missions conference here at the Angulo downtown Center. We have two Mexican missionaries coming to minister. One spent a decade in Pakistan (he had to come home due to the turmoil there in his area.) The other spent several years in India and the past several years in Senegal. We have a number of young people who have a call to missions – please pray that God will speak a helpful word to them this week – and to the congregation as a whole.

Last year the church gave over $100,000 Pesos. Almost $11,000 Dollars. We are believing for increase of faith and commitments at this conference. Again, your prayers for the conference are appreciated!

SALAMANCA CENTER ANNIVERSARY
Last weekend I too my cousin, Steve Collins, with me to Salamanca where we started the church 27 years ago. We bought an old building downtown and converted it into a church building. Our pastor there is Luis Miranda, a man of passion and faith and years of pastoral experience. It was gratifying to see the enthusiasm of the people as we ministered. Salamanca is about 200 miles from Guadalajara in Guanajuato state. It is a petroleum city of about 200,000 population. One os Mexico’s biggest refineries is there. A good place for a strong church with a strong vision.

AGUA VIVA – OUR RADIO OUTREACH MINISTRY
We are in our 40th year of broadcasts with this daily 15 minute program. I have always been amazed at how the Lord has used it – it is such a simple and short program. But he have testimonies of many, many people saved, many healings and many marriages helped. Many men who are now pastors first heard the Gospel through this little program.

This month (December) we start broadcasting on 2 new FM station in Leon, Guanajuato. Leon is one of Mexico’s important cities – with over a million population. We have a strong Center there with a really good pastor. Please pray for Leon and the surrounding cities and villages to be impacted through the broadcasts. (The cost for these 2 stations is $1000 Dollars a month. Please pray for the finances for this outreach.)

CHRISTMAS – THE SAVIOR’S BIRTH – CALVARY – RESURRECTION – COMMISSION
Its all because of Him...and for Him. I was preaching on “Lord Jesus, Teach us about Your Church.” The message the Lord gave was...1. It is My Church. 2. I am in the midst of My Church. 3. It is an aggressive, conquering and victorious Church. 4. My Church must have My Heart of the lost sheep of the world. That’s why we are here...planting churches. training leaders, and reaching out through radio and literature – to reach this lost generation for Him.

YOU – You are such a vital and essential part of what we are doing. We are here because of His call – we have been able to stay these 40 years because of your prayers and support. Thank you! And God bless you! And a very blessed Christmas season and prosperous New Year.

In His Grace,

Roger and Linda

Update - November 18

Greetings and blessings from Acatlan de Juarez, Mexico. I am writing on a borrowed laptop and borrowed Internet tonight. Hopefully we will have our own again some time next week.

We had a kind of ordinary week. Some interesting meetings, one person saved Sunday, and a couple of emergency situations. But basically calm and busy unpacking boxes in Lindas House.

Linda is much better now. She has about recovered from the allergy problems from the Dallas trip.

We are expecting a good day tomorrow in the Lords House. (I havent found the apostrophe key yet on this laptop.)

Your prayers are SUCH a blessing. Thank you! And please dont quit.

God bless you more and more.

Mid Week Update - 7 November 07

Greetings and Blessings in the Lord Jesus.

I am doing this early because we will be traveling back to Guadalajara on Friday and won't have another chance between now an next week to do it.

Church of the King Missions Conference

We had a GREAT missions conference here in our home church. Missionaries from Asia, Philippines, Africa, Europe, Mexico and the Middle East were present. Really inspiring and challenging reports and workshop sessions. And of course, the fellowship was special, too. The only hard thing about tese missions conferences...gives you a burden to go EVERYWHERE! The needs are so great - the challenge so enormous and the opportunities so tremendous...and passing.

Of course we CAN go to many of the fields of the world and bear fruit for the Kingdom...though our prayers and our financial support. Linda and I love to do that, too!

Well - we made the Golden Anniversary

Linda and I had our 50th wedding anniversary - SOMEWHAT quietly with the family in a local restaurant - the way we wanted it. Here are a few of the pics from that night.

Well...I got My sister and brother-in-law on, and son-in-law Abel with Beto and Lindsey, Ceci and Vaughn. Aaron had to work, so he is missing. Couldn't get Tim, CV and Gerray and their families to load up.

Linda's House

I started to say "project." Really, the project NOW is unpacking boxes and getting settled in. We are simply amazed at how so many friends made this house a reality. Yes, it took 4 1/2 years, but the Lord (and you) did it! Praise the Lord.

Last Sunday in Guadalajara

They had a great service, blessed in every way - except...no one came to the Lord! PLease pray that we will see double harvest this coming Sunday (November 11- Veterans' Day in USA)

Have a wonderful week, now, and a glorious Lord's Day. And please pray for the March for Jesus this Saturday, Nov. 10 in Guadalajara.

In His Service for His Glory,

Roger & Linda

Update - November 4

Greetings and Blessings from Dallas, Texas and Church of the King:

We are on the last page of this year’s missions conference in our home church. It has been great. A really different format this year, and truly informative and challenging!

COTK has missionaries in Europe, Africa, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and middle east...and of course, Mexico.

Linda has been battling a bad allergy – please pray for her.

God report from home (Guadalajara) – Last Sunday they had 4 people pray for salvation. This past 2 days our leaders have been attending a Willow Creek leadership seminar in Guadalajara (Bill Hybels’ ministry.)

Of course we always enjoy seeing our kids and grandkids here – and now one great grandson (the other one is in Seattle.)

You know we have gotten into Linda’s House – can’t wait to get back and get the boxes unpacked and out of the way! (Well, I COULD, but its got to be done!)

Your prayers – as ALWAYS – are so very important to us, and so very appreciated by us! Thank you.

God bless you.

Update - October 28

Greetings and Choice Blessings in the Name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Linda and I are in Dallas at the moment for our home church annual missions conference. We are expecting a GOOD one! (Please pray for us and it.) Oct 28-Nov4.

Last Sunday in Guadalajara we had a wonderful time – good service, presented three little ones to the Lord (we are getting more and more young couples and babies.) Five people came to the altar for salvation (155 this year thus far.)

Linda and I celebrated our 50th anniversary on Thursday – rather quietly – at a restaurant with many of our kids and grand kids and one of our 2 great grandkids. We decided we just wanted to enjoy family and thank God for His blessings across those 50 years!

WE ARE IN!

(Linda’s House, I mean!) 4 ½ years in building...many, many MUCH appreciated gifts across those years, and now we are in! We live among boxes and more boxes for the moment, but we are in! Praise God...and thank you...for prayers, encouragement and gifts! Come see us, now! (But not all at the same time!)

As you pray for us, please pray for the services and activities in Mexico, too. And for the new radio stations we are going on daily starting November 1.
God bless...Have a wonderful Lord’s Day.

In Him,

Roger and Linda

Update - October 14

Greetings on this warm Guadalajara Friday afternoon. Moving day here! We are in the middle of it. I am about to unplug here, and won't have Internet again until Sunday when I get to church. So, I will write a word now.

A million thanks to you...for your prayers and contributions to "Linda's House Project." I remind you that I asked the Lord to let me see her in her own house - after 40 years of traipsing around Mexico (and loving it.) The Lord is so good...and so are His people...you, for instance!

We had good meetings last Sunday, and 4 people came to the altar for salvation. We are looking forward to this Sunday to see what the Lord will do.

Linda's Titus 2 thing was a blessing. Now we need to finish this move and get ready for our home church's missions conference at the end of the month.

Thank you for praying. God bless you - Big!

September Newsletter

September 2007

Dear Friend,

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16.11

Guadalajara Center activities
Re-Encounter retreat for the young people
As I write the young people are on a re-encounter retreat over the weekend. These retreats have been super productive in ministering deeply in the lives of the “encounterees” and in fanning the flames of zeal and commitment to the ministry of the church in the community.

Gearing up for coming activities
We are working with other churches and pastors in preparation for the coming “March for Jesus” here in Guadalajara, plus our own local church missions conference early December.

The Harvest continues
We are still rejoicing over souls that come to the Lord week by week. Each person is so special, and so precious to the Lord and us. Still, we feel sometimes that we are trying to reap this abundant harvest of souls with a sickle, when what we need is a giant combine! We did see over 80 people pray for salvation the first alf of 2007, however. Praise God.

Titus 2 Conference
Linda and her team are celbrating a Titus 2 conference on October 6. This will be a gathering of the many ladies who have taken the course over the last decade. The Lord has done some truly miraculous things in many marriages through this outreach.

LINDA AND LINDA’S HOUSE PROJECT
Linda’s surgery was successful and her recuperation rapid and uncomplicated! For which we praise God and thank you for your prayers for her.

Linda’s house is just waiting for Linda to be back on her feet enough to start moving in! We should begin next week. It will take some time, but we are ready to begin the process! Praise God again!

We have been so blessed and encouraged by the aprticipation of so many of you in your prayers and in your gifts for this project. God bless you!

Two pictures of the local church’s Independence Day service are below. September 16 is Mexico’s “4th of July.”

Thank you again for your prayers and love. God bless you, “real good.”

Greetings and Blessings in Jesus, Our Great Deliverer!

INDEPENDENCE DAY IN MEXICO
Today is 16 September…Mexico’s Independence Day. In the Mexico as in the USA – we have the joy of many liberties and national independence. Looking at other parts of the world, we can easily recognize how blessed we are! In studying for today’s message I discovered there are at least 27 million slaves in the world today! We are so blessed! Living a country where there is freedom and knowing Jesus and the spiritual and moral freedom we have in Him!

LINDA’S SURGERY
Thank you for praying for us – for Linda – and her surgery. She came through with flying colors. A little discomfort today – but everything was benign. Praise God. Our daughter-in-law, Paty West is here from Dallas to help care for Linda. She’s a blessing!

LAST SUNDAY’S REPORT
5 people prayed for salvation. Very good meetings. Praise the Lord. We are expecting great things today as we celebrate our Independence Day Sunday.

PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray for Linda's full recovery from the surgery. Please pray for Pastor Juan Acosta and me as we travel to Monterrey for Directors’ meeting for the Center of Faith, Hope and Love in Mexico Monday.

We return Wednesday evening to Guadalajara. Please pray for the Re- Encounter Retreat we will be celebrating September 21-23 for the young people of our congregation. Then on the 24th we have our quarterly regional pastors’ meeting here in Guadalajara.

THANK YOU
Your prayers are so important – and make much more difference than you really know. We appreciate them so very much.

Greetings and Blessings in Jesus

IMMIGRATION REPORT
We got them! Praise God. Spent all day at Immigration Tuesday. Flew to Mexico City at 7:00 A.M. and got home at 7:30 P.M. But we got our credentials. Thank you for praying.

LAST WEEK’S REPORT
Besides the trip to Mexico City Tuesday, we went to Tepic on Friday to meet with our group there.

Tepic is 2 hours away by toll road – but a gasoline truck blew up in the middle section, and so all traffic was diverted to the non-toll road…all slow, crawling truck traffic. It took 4 hours to get there.

But we did some visiting (radio follow-up) and ministered at the house meeting in Ahuacate (right outside Tepic.)

We left Guadalajara at noon and got home at 1:30 A.M. Tired but blessed.

Oh. And four people prayed for salvation in the service here last Sunday, too. Praise God.

LINDA’S HOUSE
We should have the protection up by the end of the week. Soon after Linda’s surgery we should be able to start moving in. PRAISE GOD!

Your prayers and support are SUCH a blessing. You really don’t know how much.

Have a wonderful Lord’s Day….

Update, August 26

Greetings again from Guadalajara!

Someone said, “Ain’t God GOOD?” Linda and I both say a hearty amen to that!

LINDA’S HOUSE PROJECT
I shared last week that about the last thing before mi¡oving into Linda’s House is the window protection. We got an email from friends Sunday afternoon saying they were sending a check to cover that – to MORE than cover that! PTL.

MEXICO CITY – IMMIGRATION
We also shared that the Immigration Dept of Government were down. They are up again – we are going to make a quick trip Tuesday to get our renewed immigration card. Before the computers quit again! J This is an unexpected added expense, but God is faithful.

Please pray for us Tuesday – safety, strength (we are going and coming the same day) and that the computers keep working!

LAST WEEK
We had good meetings last week – and 4 people prayed for salvation. Praise God.

We DO appreciate your prayers so much.

LAST SUNDAY
We had good services last week. God is doing some powerful things in manylives. And 6 people prayed for salvation, too.

LINDA’S HOUSE PROJECT
We are literally in the last details. We have one final project to getdone….the window and door protection. People in Mexico have protective barsover the windows and doors. That project will cost $1600 for all the windowsand doors.

THEN…we move in! When we get the money for that, it will take a week to construct the protection and a week to install. KEEP PRAYING, please.

Update, August 12

Greetings and Blessings in Jesus.

We have a really short report this week.

Linda and I leave Tuesday morning for Mexico City (world’s largest city) for immigration purposes. We have been bona fide immigrants (but not citizens) here in Mexico for several year, but our passport booklet is full, and we are changing addresses…ONE OF THESE DAYS. So we have to get new booklets..or hopefully, a credencial that won’t have to be replaced.

Anyhow, please pray for our trip. Travel and immigration business. We´ll be back Friday.

No Tepic trip this week, after all. Our team was spread out in other directions.Still, pray for Tepic and what the Lord wants us to do there. And for our radio program there.

Linda’s House Project….details. Protection for windows and doors is the next detail. Closets are promised to be in THIS WEEK!

One more section of driveway needs to go in…then we can MOVE IN!

Thanks so much for praying…God bless you!

Have a wonderful Lord’s Day.

Greetings and blessings in Jesus.

YOUTH CAMP REPORT
I preached yesterday noon at the youth camp. 350 wild, on fire for God young people and some adults. Their theme this year – A Generation of Valiant Youth.
I don’t have a report on how many saved – but one young man was delivered from deep occult practices. Guadalajara Report Last Sunday, just before service time, a giant ferocious storm hit Guadalajara. Rain swept down in torrents. Streets flooded, trafic halted. Attendance was cut in half.Still, we had a good meeting – and one person gave his heart to the Lord. Trusting for better weather today.

LINDA’S HOUSE REPORT
One thing you learn in Mexico is patience! We were moving in July. Well, how about September? Details and details. However, the carport floor is now in…protection on windows and doors come next. Its going to happen! Keep praying, please.

Yes. Keep praying. Your prayers make a BIG difference. We appreciate them!

Have a blessed Lord’s Day there.

Update, July 29

Greetings in the Name of Jesus.

Sahuayo-Jiquilpan
We had two wonderful services last Sunday at Sahuayo and at Jiquilpan where Joel and Vickie Flores are pastors. I think about 5 people prayed for salvation in Sahuayo and 3 in Jiquilpan. I also prayed with a recently converted mother who lost her 23 year old son and 19 year old daughter last September when a drunk driver hit them head on. Tragic, but through it she came to know the Lord.

The interesting thing about Pastor Joel (pictured here with us) is that I dedicated him to the Lord whne he was an infant! Now he is pastoring one of our Centers!

Guadalajara
While I was away last Sunday two more people received the Lord in our downtown Angulo Center. Praise God.

Linda’s House Project
Well, we haven’t moved, YET. But we are definitely closer!

The bathrooms are finished, and the doors are all in. What’s lacking? Two closet and the driveway. We will start moving boxes next week! We should be in by the end of September! Praise God.

Youth Camp
Please pray for our annual youth camp this coming Thursday through Sunday noon. This camp has been a powerhouse for ministering to the youth of our churches, and for reaching new young people. I am preaching at the camp on Saturday morning. We especially appreciate your prayers for that time, too.

Have a Great Lord's Day
May the Lord pour out His Spirit on His people all over the earth – and may He pour out a double portion on you there.

In Him,
Roger and Linda

Update, July 22

Greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus.

Its been a busy, blessed week. There was another funeral in one of our families this week. Sadly, the man was not a believer! Happily his son and son’s wife received the Lord. Martin (one of my associate pastors) has been ministering to the family. They are very open.

Alfonso (another of my associate pastors) was visiting this week, dealing with another situation, and two people in the home trusted the Lord.

Five people prayed for salvation in the service Sunday. Praise God.

Linda and I will be ministering in Sahuayo tomorrow at the Faith, Hope and Love Center there. Pray for Pastor Joel and Vickie, a VERY sweet couple…they really want to have a baby.

Linda’s House Project – well…ALMOST ready. The bathroom tile is in, and the closets are going in. We lack only the master bathroom lavatories and its cabinet. ALMOST THERE!

We appreciate your prayers for us SO much.

Have a wonderful Lord’s Day.

Update, July 15

Dear Friend,

The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Ps 68:11,19

Greetings in the Almighty and Exalted Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. What a joy to serve Him and see His working in the lives of the people as we minister His Word!

ANGULO ANNIVERSARY CAMPAIGN
We just finished celebrating the Angulo Center of Faith, Hope and Love’s 33rd anniversary. We had services Thursday through Sunday, and 18 new people came to know the Lord in those services. It was a good campaign.

Linda and I started this church in July, 1974. We held a campaign in a rented auditorium for 6 days in January, 1974. We planned the campaign in response to our daily 15 minute radio program. People got saved from all over, many healed and many filled with the Holy Spirit. After the campaign Linda and I found the old theater building (where we later bought and now meet) and started coming 150 miles every Saturday from Leon, Guanajuato for all day meetings. We moved to Guadalajara the last of June of that year.

We praise the Lord for the hundreds of souls that have come to Jesus across the years, and the mission churches birthed out of the downtown Angulo Center. We now have 8 Centers in Guadalajara, most of which started out of Angulo.

ANSWERED PRAYER
In my weekly email update (which I would love to send you) I shared about Gemis Gonzalez. His wife, Candelaria had just recently come to the Lord (2 months ago, now) and shortly afterward became very ill. Two week ago she died and Gemis was beside himself with grief. I asked for prayer for his salvation. You prayed, and in this anniversary campaign he gave his heart to Jesus. Praise the Lord!

COMING EVENTS
Our national pastors’ convention will be held in Morelos state July 17-20. Our annual Youth Camp is August 2-5. Each year the Lord has manifested His Presence, Power and Purpose to the lives of scores of our young people. Mexico’s population is 100 million. 50% of them are 15 years old and under. 65% of them are not yet 30 years old! Please help us pray for the young people of Meixo!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU
Your prayers and financial support are what helps us be here, and helps make possible the fruit that we do see. You are definitely a vital part of the ministry here. And we do appreciate it very much!

God bless you, more and more!

ANNIVERSARY CAMPAIGN
This weekend we are celebrating the 33rd anniversary of the downtown Guadalajara Faith, Hope and Love Center. It has been great! Thursday 2 people prayed for salvation. Friday we had an anniversary banquet, and “pesca milagrosa” (Miracle catch) service. 15 people new prayed for salvation, including Gemis, the widower of Candelaria who died recently. I asked you to pray for him.

At the end of the service last night we had a violent rain storm. We couldn’t leave the church until almost 10 PM. The streets were all flooded, knee.deep…cars with drowned motors everywhere…but the Lord got us home…though it took 2 hours to get there. Its rainy season here…last night is not unusual!

Saturday night we had a city-wide Centro de Fe (FHLove Center) youth rally. Talk about alive!!

Titus 2 - Teaching Women

In April of 1998 the Lord began to speak to Linda about building and teaching a course based on the concept Paul expressed in Titus 2:3-5. Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no-one will malign the word of God. The Lord helped her get the materials together and put them in a manual.

The idea was to teach the course to the pastor´s wives and encourage them to teach it to their ladies in the local church. Linda has taught Titus 2 several times city wide in Guadalajara as well as many other cities in Mexico. The impact has been tremendous! Homes have been blessed, marriages restored, divorces cancelled, and many husbands saved as a result of these teachings. Now the wives of leading pastors in several cities are continuing to teach the course to one generation of women after another.

Agua Viva Radio Broadcast

Roger began his "Agua Viva" (Living Water) program in July of 1968. He has been on the air in Mexico daily since that time. At the present time he is on nine stations, covering much of Mexico with the Gospel message. His program is on World Wide Christian Radio at 4:45 Monday through Friday at 9.475 MHz.

The testimonies of salvation and healing have been an exciting part of the ministry through the years.

In connection with the Agua Viva program we have a Bible correspondence school. Hundreds of radio listeners have requested and received the "Light of Life" Bible course in Spanish as a result of the program.

Please pray for Agua Viva and its many listeners.

In July of 1968 we started broadcasting the Gospel on the radio in México. I had pastured Spanish-speaking congregations in Texas and Oklahoma. For several years I had a Sunday morning program that reached a large audience. When we moved to Mexico I was inspired by the effectiveness of Bro. Danny Ost´s radio programs. I began to seek a station that would sell me air time. The station managers were wary of letting me on the air, fearing a negative reaction from the very religious public.

I finally convinced Mr. Olivares at 'Radio Juventud' to sell me 2 five minute slots. I had asked for one 15 minute slot. After several months, and no problems from the public, he sold me time for a daily 15 minute broadcast. We have been on the air in Mexico every day since that time. Presently we are on 8 stations in Mexico every day and on WWCR (World Wide Christian Radio) Mondays through Fridays. Tune in at 9.475 MHz at 4:45 CST. Literally thousands of people have been brought to the Lord through the programs; multitudes of healing testimonies have come to us and many churches born.

We have sent 'Light of Life' (La Luz de la Vida) Bible correspondence courses to hundreds of people across Mexico and Latin America. We also have sent many booklets of Gospel literature along with the Bible courses. It is an exciting thing to send the Gospel over the air-ways to places that have never had a missionary or Gospel preacher and see hearts and doors open as a result. Please pray for the Agua Viva programs.

Church Planting

Our basic call to missions is to plant churches, train leaders and turn the churches over to the national leaders. We have planted churches in the Mexican states of Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Michoacán, Jalisco and Colima. Our first church in plant in Mexico was in San Isidro, Nuevo León in March of 1967. I was teaching in the Crusade Bible School at El Carmen during the day and doing tract-drop follow up in the afternoons and evenings. When we did follow up on a family from San Isidro 6 people were saved on the first visit. We started going there twice a week for the next 8 months, visiting homes and preaching the Gospel in the open air. For the last 4 months of that time we went an extra night a week to give leadership training studies to 4 of the men in the new congregation.

In November of 1967 I committed the congregation to Chano Flores as pastor. The work continues to this day. We moved to Celaya, Guanajuato in central Mexico in November of 1967, and in the next 4 years planted churches in Celaya, Acámbaro, Irapuato, Cupareo, La Palma, El Huizache and Las Fuentes. We also helped start churches in Morelia, Queretaro and San Miguel de Allende. In 1972 we moved to León, Guanajuato where we planted a congregation. We also did outreaches to La Labor, Corralejo de Hidalgo, Cañones and La Calera. In 1974 we moved to Guadalajara, Jalisco as a result of a tremendous campaign we celebrated in that city. Besides planting the main church downtown, we have 7 other churches in the city, and churches were started in Colima, Salamanca, Ocotlan, Sahuayo, Zamora, Unión de Tula and El Grullo.

Two of the Guadalajara churches were actually planted by Don and Perri Sams, while David Pursifull took the little Sahuayo mission and planted the thriving church there. We recently were involved in the planting of a church in Mérida, Yucatán. That church has reached out into numerous communities surrounding Mérida, and is growing rapidly. Our basic call to missions is to plant churches, train leaders and turn the churches over to the national leaders.
